Having sea chef high and low for somewhere not too smart for a quick bite on a Sunday (most places closed for annual holidays), this place was perfect. The house special “scone” with goats’ cheese, bacon, honey and walnuts on a salad was superb. Lovely shaded terrace in the middle of the town. A bit touristy, but not overly so. Reasonable value for money. View all feedback.
Stopped by after visiting the chateau. Prompt friendly service. Excellent chef's salad. Good value for money. Good central location.
Awful experience it appeared to be the only place open for lunch so not surprised that we had to wait 15 minutes for a table not an issue given we had some long overdue sunshine! We were shown to the table and immediately asked what we wanted to drink but it sadly went downhill from there. 2 tables who arrived after us had food orders taken before us. When we eventually got to order we were told there was only 1 chicken, 1 duck or a croque monsieur left. Disappointing but we were informed that it was 1.30pm after all (but we had been waiting for 45 minutes!! . 5 minutes later they came back to say in fact there was no duck left after all (my order but they could offer me their speciality scone albeit without the advertised toppings. Another 5 minutes passed and they came back to say in fact there was no chicken but there was duck. We had no choice really as there was nothing else available. Food eventually arrived and was completely underwhelming. The confit of duck was clearly just reheated from a tin and served with cold pasta. The scone was OK and served with salad which was the best bit. I decided to use the facilities and on my way back outside saw 2 boxes of frozen croque monsieurs being brought to the chef who has the smallest of spaces to work in I really wasn’t surprised that even something so simple is ready frozen, cheese and all!! Very sad given this was the first time we had eaten out in a year but if we had to wait another year, we’d rather wait another year than return. Very disappointing.

Popped in for an early lunch with friends and their kids. Attentive and helpful staff throughout. Our groups tried both plat de jours the rabbit looked plain but fell off the bone and tasted great, and good reports from the rest of the table on the bacon/cheese/scone dish. The desserts were the absolute highlight though both the chocolate fondant and panacotta with strawberry were sensational, absolute melt in the mouth stuff. Highly recommend.
We stopped off here after a long day of riding around the Loire region, enjoying the serenity and the many beautiful Chateaus. The service was great and we sat outside and enjoyed a beer and some tasty ice creams after quite a few hours in the saddle. Well situated, good service and a great place to unwind at the end of a day. Nice, relaxing setting.
