What User doesn't like about The Boot Shoe:
there were very few options for vegans. we chose the vegan roast that is Sunday. When it came, I asked the yorkshire pudding. the waiter said that the brat itself is vegan, but the yorkshire pudding and maic were not. we had made it clear that we were vegan when we ordered, so were very disappointed. the food was dry and had an overwhelming taste of pfeffer. they finally came and apologized after we left. Return visit and just as good. Went for the pizza this time. It was absolutely delicious.
I honestly think this place gets worse each time I've visited. Poor service, missing items, burnt pizza, burnt sticky toffee (if that's even possible) it actually tasted like a burnt ginger cake covered in toffee sauce... overpriced soft drinks. Waste of £30.
The food was delicious, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced! We made a reservation for a child's 4th birthday party at least 3 days in advance and provided our food orders from the main and set menu at the time of booking. We all arrived on time at 6:00pm, as it was the earliest everyone could make it. After waiting 30 minutes, we were told that they couldn't provide any of the desserts that we had pre-ordered from the set menu because they hadn't ordered the necessary ingredients. We were asked to choose from the main menu instead. We then waited for just under an hour, having to ask multiple times when the food would be ready as the children were hungry and it was past their bedtime. Finally, the food started to arrive, with a 10-minute gap between the first and last dish. They also brought out 5 children's meals instead of 4 and forgot about one of the adult meals, which had to be cooked last minute. We had to request for the table to be cleared and desserts to be served once we had finished, as they left our plates sitting for another 15 minutes after we were done with the first course. Eventually, the desserts were served, but there was a debate about the bill. They offered to reduce it by 10%, but were charging more for the desserts from the main menu. After further discussion, we agreed on a final amount and left. Overall, it was a complete disaster.
Good modern looking local pub with pizza oven as well as usual pub food selection. Smaller side rooms as well as main lounge area and outside patio with small play area.
What a wonderful pub . From the minute you walk in you feel so welcome. The staff are amazing, above and beyond in their hospitality. The ambience in the pub is great , just a lovely place for a family meal. The decor is spot on , and there's a beer garden and play area for the kids in the warmer months. The food was fantastic. Three of our party had burgers , they were huge, tasty and excellent value for money. We also had the gammon and a roast roll , again, huge , tasty and excellent value. I highly recommend a visit to the Boot and Shoe
