The Black Bull Inn - Lancaster

We dined at the Black Bull while searching for a place to eat, and we were thoroughly impressed. The food was fantastic—hands down the best scampi I've ever tasted! However, what stood out even more was the warm and friendly service from the staff. I've never felt so welcomed at a pub before. The two staff members who served us truly exemplify what this pub is all about, and we're already planning multiple return visits.

I had Sunday tea there, and all the food was superb. The service provided by James and the entire staff was excellent and very friendly. We will definitely return!

The staff here are wonderful, and the pub menu is a delightful classic. We started with fish goujons and halloumi, followed by two perfectly cooked, hearty rump steaks accompanied by excellent homemade chips. We also enjoyed a steak and ale pie. This place deserves to be much busier; it’s so underrated! I will definitely be returning.

We went to the Bull last night and ordered 2 Burgers. They were lovely, Mine was the Cajun chicken and my other half got Cheese and Bacon burger. They were excellent value for money. We had previously been the week before and it was just ok. Last night Tony was cooking and it made a vast difference. We really enjoyed our meal, Well done.

Great village pub. Friendly owners. Cracking home cooked food. Highly recommend the fish chips and scampi and chips. Will definitely visit again. Such a shame it wasn't busier on a Saturday night
