Great selection of produce and ready made foods to choose from. The area has a terrific feel to it, and is conveniently located near many shops and restaurants downtown. The aisles are a bit tight but the amount of vendors is great. The market is clean and organized, offering a wide range of different foods for any palate. View all feedback.

We were surprised by how small and unimpressive this place was, given how much hype it has gotten from the New York Times and elsewhere. There are some good vendors. But it's just not special. I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this market. View all feedback.
Honestly, the only thing I'm going for is the ice cream coffee and fresh vegetables. It is usually extremely busy. This location is beautiful because it has several different providers all at one location. You have to pay for parking on the street. On weekends, the lots can be filled. From fresh local products, handcrafted goods such as jams and sauces, random gifts, crafts and more! The central market has everything. Moreover, the fact that it is the oldest, continuously running public market in the country is quite cool.
If you are in Lancaster on Tuesday, Friday or Saturday, you must go to the Lancaster Central Market. It is historically significant, a great place for souvenirs, and you will find some great vegan items in the middle of the PA Dutch meat and milk specialities. My favourite is the Lancaster Juice Company for smoothies (always taste incredible! and the Herb Shop! Some of the suppliers selling lotions and soaps are sometimes not the craftsmen themselves, but they are generally aware of the ingredients to identify possible animal components. Market is so great for .... well, just about anything you can think of, all fresh delicious. Try the pickled watermelon rind. Trust me ? ?
The best of everything! Fresh veggies spices fish really great coffee beautiful flowers the best cheese! and so much more. I never leave empty handed and never leave with an empty belly either! Highly recommend.
