This pub is in our neighbourhood. Popped in for a pizza. Old school pub vibe. Good pizza. Comedians were prepping for open mic night which was really fun to experience. If in the area worth popping in for a pizza and drink. View all feedback.

The cavendish arms is a beautiful pub in stockwell, hidden in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. I liked the retro-decoration and the furniture that looked like they came from the house of a grandfather. the drink selection is nothing special, but it is in order for a local. they also have something called discories that I have to try next time. definitiw sounds fascinating the place is actually quite well known among young comics, as they open microphone comedy nights every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so popular among people who want to go on stage for the first time or practice new materials and test how it sits with the crowd. The restaurant is beautiful and worth a visit, however, our experience was soured by the erratic behavior of the stand-up comedy show host downstairs. Despite starting with a message of having a good vibe, he later scolded and criticized some audience members for supposedly making homophobic remarks that no one else heard. After ranting for five minutes, he apologized to the same people, saying he had misunderstood their comments. Unfortunately, by then, the atmosphere had already become tense and negative.
Had a fantastic evening at this restaurant. The venue was uniquely comfortable and had a refreshing approach to supporting up-and-coming talent. Impressive experience overall!
I attended a comedy night at this restaurant as part of their Groupon deal. We enjoyed cocktails and pizza. The atmosphere was inviting and the restaurant definitely has its own unique style. The staff were very friendly. Overall, it was a fun evening!
Went here in the brief window where we were allowed to meet up to 6 friends as long as we sat outside and ate a substantial meal. It was our first time going to the Cav and we 'll definitely be back! They took such good care of us. The outdoor table had a heater on it, there was a marquee roof overhead, and the staff fully explained all the new rules so we knew what was going on and felt safe. They also had a great deal going on pizza (aka substantial meal and a drink for 15 quid. Our server (shoutout to Callum was friendly, funny, and all around wonderful. I really, REALLY hope this place sticks around after this whole 2020 mess. I 'd love to check out the live entertainment they have there one day. I also look forward to actually getting to sit inside one day as the decor seemed pretty rad. Quirky places like this are rare, special, and need to be supported so go spend lots of money there to keep them afloat.
