Instead of the prawn pizza we ordered, we received meatballs and shrimp. It was a understandable error and the waitress handled it well despite the mix-up. However, we were disappointed that the manager didn't apologize or offer any sort of compensation. He even threw away the meatballs we could have taken instead of the incorrect order without giving us the option. Overall, we were disappointed with the lack of customer service.

However, many other restaurants, not affiliated with big pizza chains, have since surpassed Pizza Express in terms of their base, toppings, and overall quality. Some Pizza Express locations are still holding on, especially those with unique character and good locations. However, this particular location seems to be stagnant and lacked the charm we were hoping for. It was almost empty on a mid-week night in January. The staff were decent, the pizza was average, and the prices were just slightly higher than what we felt was reasonable for the quality we received.

Unfortunately, the teig balls I ordered were terrible, but I should have known that as a ball of teig is not particularly appetizing. I ended up ordering a pizza, which was okay, but I thought the price of £16 was a bit expensive. The total bill for two of us came to £40, which I found pricey, especially since the place felt a bit dirty and grimy. I could have bought four supermarket pizzas for the same price and enjoyed them in a nicer environment.
