I just went out for brunch to Esca with a friend. We waited for minutes and still had not received our food. We then asked the one girl who was serving the customers in the restaurant what was happening with our food?...Please note only of the customers in the restaurant actually had food on their tables. She told us our food will be with us in ten minutes. minutes later my friend went up to the counter and asked the one chef who was cooking for the customers where our food was. We were told he had not even started cooking our food. The restaurant was very heavily focusing on take away orders rather then the customers in the restaurant! We were not the only customers who were unhappy with the lack of service and food in the restaurant! I will not be coming back. When we walked out we were offered some cake which would have been a nice gesture before we had gotten up to leave the restaurant!
Went to the opening of this place when they replaced Esca service was poor on opening night . Who remembers when they had they best baked goods in the windows
Came in for a meal, sat waiting for nearly minutes for my order to be taken. Several couples who came in after me had theirs taken AND were served and yet I was ignored so I finally walked out and won’t waste my time...there again. The cafe was not busy, the staff resorted to cleaning it was that empty if you don’t think a single customer is worth your effort, you shouldn’t be in hospitality.
Very nice cafe, excellent food and friendly staff that couldn't do more for you. The place was very busy but we were looked after very well. We also had a cake to takeaway that was very delicious! Would recommend.
Below average food (poached eggs solid in the middle, toast burnt) and inattentive service (both our plates were dropped onto the table by the waitress). Would not visit again.
Nestled in a bustling area, this cafe promises a tantalizing breakfast and lunch experience with unique offerings like truffle-infused hollandaise. Diners rave about the vibrant atmosphere, roomy seating, and delicious vegan options, often remarking on the generous portions and friendly service. However, a consistent theme of inattentive staff and subpar food quality mars the overall experience for some patrons. Reports of hygiene concerns raise eyebrows, leading certain customers to reconsider their visits. While there's potential for a delightful meal, inconsistency seems to be the café's defining characteristic, making it a mixed bag for discerning diners.
