Castro Novas - Lakeway

We've lived out here for a while but closer to the galleria, so haven't frequented Castros until recent weeks. Thanks to friends who kept suggesting it, we stopped in and have been hooked every since. The service is always happy and comes with a smile and conversation. Annette makes some amazing food in the kitchen. So blessed to find this local gem!

Fun time, pool is free, and friendly folks. Plus a tournament foosball table! There's food but I did not try the menu so can't rate on the food. Plan to return.

If you haven't been in a while you need to try again! I'm completely addicted to whatever they call their French fry/chip deal and the burger was amazing!!!

The pandemic has been hard on Castro's. They have a kitchen but this is basically a drinking place. They have lots of TVs with things to watch, A variety of seating, Two pool tables and other games, and a nice room. It is a better deal if you live in the neighborhood and it is a better deal if you can actually drink. I stopped in for a quick lunch before heading off to do other things. The burger and onion rings were standard issue. I was famished, so I was glad to have them. At 3-ish on a Saturday afternoon, there was one stolid non-mask wearing bar denizen. There was a serious non-mask pool player practicing on the tables. There was the bartender and me. Safe enough to allow me to wait inside for my burger. Not safe enough for me to want to lounge there forever. When the pandemic is over, I have a number of bars I am supereager to get back to. Castro's is a better deal for Lakeway people than me ... but it has its charms.

Love this place they have some of the best wings in Texas (yep I said that). Not fru fru wings just great wings and the onion rings are top five in America. Prove me wrong!
