Sloopy's Sports Cafe - Lakeside

When you walk into a half empty restaurant you don't expect a 90 minute wait. So when there's a 90 minute wait for pizza, let people know ahead of time before they've paid and sat down for 10 minutes. There were 3 or 4 people running the front end.Maybe add a few more to sling pizzas in the back.

We ordered calzones which were delicious but took a long time to cook. We asked several times for napkins, ended up getting our own. Noticed a few health issues. Young girl doing trash stopped to serve ice cream to a customer and didn't wash her handsfirst. The gentleman at the restaurant put his finger up his nose and continued working the registry. Yuck

The pizza at this restaurant was quite enjoyable. Although on the expensive side, they were the only restaurant open in Lakeside. However, the customer service was lacking. The employees seemed to give off the impression that we were disrupting their other duties and that we were an inconvenience to them. It's unclear whether it was just a bad night for them or if they are always like that.

We ordered a 16-inch Deluxe Pizza and it was one of the best tasting pizzas I have had in a long time. The crust and toppings were excellent. I would have given it a five-star rating, but the price before tip and tax was $28.

The pizza was decent, but a bit on the pricey side. However, it was the only restaurant open in Lakeside. The customer service was lacking, as the staff seemed disinterested and gave off the impression that they would rather be doing something else. It's possible it was just a bad night for them, but it's also possible that this is their usual demeanor.
