Sonny's Bbq - Lakeland

It took s very long time to get our food but our waitress was amazing!! I don't remember her name. She was maybe. In her 50's and she was slender. We'll she really made the whole experience worth the wait

Upon our arrival, the hostess was preoccupied with setting cutlery in paper pouches and did not acknowledge us. When she eventually assisted us, she appeared annoyed and simply asked "how many?". After escorting us to our table and placing menus and silverware, she left without mentioning our server. Fortunately, Destiny, our server, was friendly and helpful, especially with our indecisive son. She explained menu changes since our last visit to Sonny's. Despite the food arriving at room temperature, we believe Destiny was the only staff member working and the only pleasant one as well.

The restaurant has major cleanliness and customer service issues. The seats and tables were sticky, and the plates given with my appetizer had barbecue sauce on them or were still wet. I had to request missing portions of my meal as the waitress forgot to bring them, which was a consistent problem during the meal. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing.

My experience at this restaurant was terrible! I placed an order before 7pm and was told it would be ready by 7:05. When I arrived at the same time, I didn't receive my food until 7:45, and it was cold. The bread was soggy, and I was very disappointed by the visit. The store needs to improve their efficiency. Six cars went through the drive-thru before I finally got my food.

I absolutely loved Sonny's BBQ, the service was awesome and so was the food. I was so happy that most of their menu was gluten friendly. We ordered the family feast for the 4 of us, which was more food than we could eat. Just an awesome dinner!!!
