What User doesn't like about Norsemen Restaurant:
Beautiful spot in the woods by the lake. The food was of a very high quality but the service didn't match the food. The waitress was friendly and apologetic when the mains took over an hour. We were told that one of the deserts that we ordered was in short supply but it never arrived with the other desert that we ordered, again the waitress apologized. The restaurant is situated in a secluded area. The food was tasty. We tried the ribs and the salmon, both of which were fantastic and bursting with flavor.
Our group of eight (4 adults / 4 kids) were camping in Algonquin Park and decided to drive into town for a nice dinner.
I recently had a fantastic birthday dinner with my wife at this restaurant. We both loved the atmosphere, main courses, and desserts. The vintage classic look of the place added to the overall experience.

I had not been back to this fine dining place in the middle of the woods for 35 years. I was delighted to find that it was still an excellent bistro, with trout to die for. The prices are not cheap for Muskoka, but not outrageous. The setting is pleasant, overlooking the lake, and the services was polished, and friendly. Everything was more or less the way it was when I was last here. Unfortunately, that included the faux peel-and-stick tile in the men's washrooom stall that is now peeling off and badly needs replaced. Other than that, It was wonderful.
