The food. I mean, that's why you go out to eat right? You had better be hungry because you can split most meals. I will say it again. you can split most orders. Its good tasting and priced where you would expect. Check it out. View all feedback.
What Eryn Hartmann doesn't like about La Strada At Lake Lure:
We had an absolutely beautiful view of Lake Lure, even to see 3 people paragliding, and our server Lorraine was incredible... but this is where the positivity stops. That's the worst Italian restaurant I've ever eaten. The garlic knots were burned and stabbed. The eggplant parmesan was baked, the manicotti tubes were hard and one could say that the food was microwave. Then, to literally complete it, was the worst red... View all feedback.
Lake Lure is a tourist destination. No doubt. Whenever you travel to a tourist destination, there is always this probability that you will be exploited. You know, high prices, terrible wine casting, etc. This place is NOT that. Even if they do not use COULD based on their location. They give you food for the money, their prices are very reasonable and the view of the veranda is stunning. We had Lorraine as a waitress. She was very friendly and accommodating. If you go through, I recommend this restaurant. And NOT related at all, my dog died today after 14 years while I eat here in NC. I have no good reason to cast this fact into my review, except I'm just sad.? Can I post a photo of her on a Google review? Not sure. But she was a fucking good dog. She deserves the memory.

And THEN charge you for $2,50 if you use a credit card!!! This place is about Italian as can boss boyardeee... as a matter of fact saving money and getting a can boss boyardee spaghetti and meatballs. It'll be better than what you get here. I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy.
Excellent food in beautiful surroundings. Our party of four enjoyed our variety of fish shrimp related dishes. Although the restaurant was very busy (we had to park in the overflow), we could wait on a table near the bar, were sitting outside in less than 35 minutes. Our onion ring appetizer was delicious, but pretty hard. But the ducks were excellent. My wife, I had the pistachios recruited trout generous portions accompanied by one side; Garlic potatoes for me, steamed broccoli for them. Our friends had roasted shrimps with garlic potatoes (his) grilled chicken with pasta salad (hers). Three of us drank water while Highland Brewing's Oatmeal Porter was an excellent companion to my meal. We were brought some free garlic bread cookies. You were very good. When it was time for Dessert, three torn off from our party, but I ordered the Praline apple bull. It was served warm with a vanilla ice cream perfection! As far as the ambience is concerned, the image below shows Chimney Rock in the Southwest, while the reach reaches the north. Only a panoramic view would suit the view from our table on the second floor veranda. In summary, I would skip the onion rings, the rest is five stars.
The staff were very friendly. The waiter was good he kept checking on us. We were not very hungry so we decided to split the Italian feast. Everything tasted great. There was enough food that we couldn't finish it. The sauces were delicious. The rolls they bring out were drenched in a butter and parmesan. Over all a good meal.
I loved the view from the terrace! This time of the year it's crazy busy, but I was impressed that they were full and we barely had a wait, even though they were busy. Tables and dining area were clean and tidy, their menu is quite typical, but definitely has something for everyone. The same applies to drinks. Prices are somewhat steep for what you get, but again, this is a very tourist area. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, romantic place, that is not true. But if you stand for a good meal, a decent look at Chimney Rock (or inside with good air conditioning) in a family environment, I recommend this as a stop. I ordered a grilled chicken salad in Asian style (can not remember the name) and was very happy with it. All fresh green, great chicken and the size was perfect as a full meal. Thanks for the great service! We'll be back.
