Description

Tucked into a modest California storefront, this family-run Indonesian eatery pairs a small grocery with a Padang-focused menu of bold, home‑cooked flavors. Favorites like nasi padang, rendang, gado gado and fried rice earn praise for authenticity and taste, though guests report uneven seasoning, occasional toughness, variable portion sizes and slow service. With limited seating and ongoing renovations under new management, it’s a casual, friendly spot for adventurous diners seeking hearty, authentic Indonesian dishes and hard-to-find pantry items.

Family run restaurant with a small market of Indonesian snacks on one side of the store. The food is mostly Padang style with common traditional dishes. Met my basic expectations for home cooked Indonesian dishes without having to drive to SG.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a disappointing experience. The food was just okay, but it didn't taste fresh. The portion sizes were extremely small; I only received one piece of meat when I ordered a combo. We requested the noodles to be a little spicy, but they added an overwhelming amount, making them inedible after just one bite. I had to order additional dishes because we were still hungry, and I had to order everything separately. The portions I saw in the photos looked much better than what we received. In the end, I paid $90 for two people, and I will not be returning.

I'm so glad we discovered this restaurant while shopping in the plaza! The food was excellent—packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. We tried the Nasi Padang, chicken and beef skewers, and Nasi Goreng Kornet. Everything was delicious! Food: 5/5.

If you came here before and disappointed, please give them another try. I came here today and was pleasantly surprised. I think they're listening to their customers and is improving. Ordered Nasi Padang and it was plentiful and flavorful. Hit the spot for sure! I ordered spicy and I got spicy! Service was warm and attentive. Can't wait to come back!

The food here was disappointing. The paratha gravy was overpoweringly spiced and didn't even provide enough for two bites. The lamb skewers were far from the quality of frozen lamb skewers you can find at Indian or Middle Eastern stores. On the positive side, the fried rice was good. However, the sambal that came with the fish fry didn't resemble the photos in the menu at all.
