Today my mom and I came to this restaurant to eat Mexican food. Today was happy Mother?s Day for Mexican moms. So I brought my mom and we both agreed that the food and service was great. I eat a torta (Mexican sandwich) and I very happy to say it was a real torta. For the first time in 5 years I had a real Mexican torta that reminds be for my beloved land Mexico. I really recommend this place to all. View all feedback.
What Roy Rutherford doesn't like about El Progreso Mexican:
The restaurant does not display prices and charges a $2 fee for credit card payments without prior notice. The food quality was average. I could have chosen a better place for the prices charged. I will not be returning to this restaurant. Disappointing. View all feedback.
TERRIBLE!! Just because we are very hungry, we didn't leave this place but, $15.00 for a plate of chilaquiles?? If at least there were tasty!! Never again!! No recommended! period.
We venture out one morning in the middle of June looking for a new place to eat. Somewhere new. So we headed towards Lake Forest and found El Progreso Mexican Restaurant on Raymond Way. What a mistake that was. The restaurant was not that busy and it was around 10:30 am. Our food took a long time to arrive. Other people who came before us got their food and us.....we waited and waited. So when our food came it was warm and not very tasty. We ate a fourth of it, paid and then I wanted to go wash my hands and use the restroom. OMG! I opened the door and immediately closed it. The toilet was full of human excrement and not fit to use. Don't waste your money eating at this restaurant. If the bathroom is not clean, I would hate to see the kitchen where our food is prepared.
Their burritos are awesome. El Progreso is one of the little places we love to frequent. They make corn tortillas on the weekend.
This restaurant was empty and poorly lit. The quality of their food was not great. For a restaurant with a fairly limited menu, I would expect that their food should be pretty good (or at least a dish or two), but the handful of times I've been here, I have been disappointed. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Today, my mom and I went to this restaurant to enjoy some Mexican food. It was a happy Mother's Day for Mexican mothers, so I brought my mom along. We both thought the food and service were excellent. I had a torta (Mexican sandwich) and I was thrilled to say it was authentic. It had been 5 years since I had a genuine Mexican torta that reminded me of my homeland, Mexico. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
