Dairy Queen - Lake Country

What a great addition to the fast food scene in Winfield. These guys have the ice cream business nailed. The burgers are served a little messy. Maybe its the way they apply the mustard - but it does match my shirt. Maybe too much fast. But the flavor can't be beat. The closest flavor competitor was Harvey's, and they have gone somewhere.

When was the last time the staff of a fast-food restaurant came to ask you how your ice cream was? Well, never for me, except at this Dairy Queen. Blizzards tasted exactly like they should and would pretty much atany Dairy Queen, but the place was clean and the staff incredibly friendly.

This DQ location is a bit small, but probably appropriate for Lake Country. The restaurant was very clean and parking was convenient. The young woman who took our order was happy and pleasant. We just ordered a couple of soft serve ice cream cones. They were exactly what I would expect from DQ.

Skimpy, skimpy, skimpy. Sizes of cones are often undersize, Sizes of ice cream in sundaes is undersize, and amount of toppings is about 1/4 of what other franchise locations serve. I ordered pecans on my hot fudge sundae, and got 3 small pieces of pecans and a dusting of pecan dust. Buster bar had minimal hot fudge sauce. Sitting in the restaurant, trying to enjoy our meagre 'treats', and listening to people at other tables complain about the lack of toppings on their strawberry sundaes, is no 'treat'. When I am expecting a Dairy Queen treat, and instead, get chintzy portions, it feels like i've been ripped off. This experience has been repeated many times at this location.
