The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and accommodating. The only downside was that my steak was not cooked to my liking, but I was too tired from a long road trip to ask for a replacement. Instead, I just ate the more well-done outer portion. To top off the evening, a kind couple at a nearby table graciously paid for my dinner and my daughter's. How sweet! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lake City Bistro:
Someone spent a lot of money on this beautiful restaurant, with a chef who seemed reasonably skilled. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. Our waitress was untrained, flustered, and made mistakes. She claimed there were no gluten-free options (which was incorrect), forgot one of our dinner orders, failed to clear dishes, served dessert while we were still eating, and tried to rush us through the meal. One of the best meals I’ve had in my life. The beef skewers were perfectly seasoned, and the risotto was just right. I will return, soon I hope.
We joined two other couples during art fields to eat dinner at treno. It was my husband's birthday and we hoped for a special meal. The waitress, although sweet, seemed clueless. I asked about gluten free meal options, and she said she didn't know. She went to the kitchen and came back and said that there were none. When I asked what was on the salmon or the beef kabobs to make them not gluten free, she disappeared again, came back and said there is cross contamination. She said the salad and sides were not gluten free either. I ordered anyways. They brought out 5 of our meals, but forgot to bring my husband's meal. He waited 10 minutes more for his entree. The food was good, and they did comp my husband's dinner. The waitress never cleared our dishes, and asked us to pay before we finished eating. I think the chef should have helped the waitress more, and come out to talk with me, and the waitress needed some direction!
Hey, if you've gotta wait 25 minutes just to get a glass of wine...not even a food order, then 10 minutes to GET the glass of wine...not even a food order...then the wine being near vinegar (BOTH a Chardonnay and a Cabernet!! and another 5-10 minutes before we left...not even a food order...then let's hope the food would be good when/if you ever got it. Here's a tip...go early...pack a lunch...BYO...Sorry, but that's how it was. :(I did like the outside smoking area. A very comfortable setting.BTW, it's IN the hotel...they kinda blur that in the directions.
Food tasted good. But by the time it got to our table it was cold my bacon wrapped fillet was cooked wrong. Told the server, all she did was ask to have it reheated (which I don't recommend reheating such an expensive plate, should be replaced). Don't know if it was the manager or owner but he was just chilling at the bar speaking and drinking with a customer. No one approached us to apologize for meals being cold and incorrect. Had high expectations for the place.
