Tyler's Lounge - Lake Buena Vista

While I've never stayed at this lovely hotel, I have had a variety of other experiences promoting a good review. As a local, there's no need for me to book here due to having a home and the high price of renting a room.. But, The Grand Floridian offers a variety of other activities and experiences worth exploring. Most recently, I attended a wedding at the pavilion. It was a lovely experience and I hope to do it again some day. Afterwords, we were able to leave our car and take the monorail over to MK. This was very convenient! In the spring, I love dropping by to see the chocolate painted Easter eggs. I'll drop a few pictures. Near Christmas time is magical at the GF. The decor and huge gingerbread house will blow you away. The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars from me is the price. I would love to stop by for a staycation, but the price is just out of reach.

From the moment we arrived at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, the magic began to unfold, even before the official check-in time. Although our room wasn't ready upon early arrival, the process of checking our bags with the efficient bell services was seamless, allowing us to dive right into the enchanting world of Disney parks without delay. The front desk staff were the epitome of hospitality, assisting us promptly and ensuring our first moments were captured by a Photopass photographer--a delightful touch to start our stay. Transportation was a breeze with the monorail service, whisking us away to our destinations after minimal wait times. The ferry boat to and from the Magic Kingdom was equally expedient, with an average wait of just 10-15 minutes. While the bus service did take a tad longer compared to other Disney resorts, and included a stop at the Polynesian Resort, it was a small hiccup in the grand scheme of our adventure. Our resort lake view room was a tribute to the whimsical elegance of Mary Poppins, decorated with such sophistication that it felt like stepping into a storybook. The cleanliness, the sumptuous comfort of the beds, and the breathtaking views added layers of luxury to our experience. Evenings were graced with the spectacle of the water pageant and the Fantasmic fireworks, all visible from the sanctuary of our room. Dining at the quick service restaurant was a treat--reasonably priced, scrumptious, and served with impressive speed. A word to the wise: keep your patio door closed to avoid any encounters with the local, albeit large, cockroach residents. And although a mysterious sticky brown liquid made a guest appearance from the bathroom fan one evening, it did little to dampen the enchantment of our stay. In conclusion, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is a realm of wonder that I highly recommend for anyone seeking a sprinkle of pixie dust and the comfort of impeccable service. It's not just a hotel; it's a slice of the Disney dream come to life.

Although the grounds are beautiful I was dissapointed with my room here. We arrived very late on a Saturday night due to our flight being delayed several times. Upon opening our room door I didnt get the wow I was expecting from the reviews and price of this resort. My main complaint is the carpet. Our carpet was very stained and even had a wet spot on the floor which according to the smell on my sock I think it was coffee. I found a spider on my pillow one night. The toliet area was shared by the shower/tub combo and didnt allow much space. I noticed the carpet throughout the villa building had several stains as well. The resort is beautiful overall. I really enjoyed the cabanas at the slide pool, watching my girls at the adorable splash pad, and the conveince of the monorail and getting to Magic Kingdom. I really just wanted more at this price level and reputation. I wouldnt stay again due to the room size, condition, and not feeling comfortable enough in the room which is absolutely what you need after long days at the parks.

My family and I did a split stay while staying in Disney for about a week. Half the time we stayed at Copper Creek villas and the other half we stayed at Grand Floridian villas. We were excited we made this transition because each are completely different experiences. I loved the stay at both for very different reasons. Grand Floridian villas was absolutely beautiful. Some might use the word bougie. I love the architecture, the smell when you walk in is so beautiful. a grand piano sitting off your left with beautiful music surfacing throughout the main lobby area. We were tucked away a little bit over in the villas. Not too bad of a walk. There's a few different pools on site and each one of them offers a different vibe. They have one that has a whole area for the kids. They also have a little man-made beach built-in that overlooks the lake. There's all kinds of fun games, and stuff for the kids to do and play with as well as cabanas and a lot of relaxation spots. There's a bar that sells drinks and snacks at each of the pools. The lobby area has a few, fun gift shops. They have a Michelin star restaurant on site as well as another beautiful, seafood restaurant called Narcosses. We ordered done in for dinner one night and breakfast one morning and that was the MOVE! It wasn't even that expensive and the food was amazing. The villas are beautiful, they have a nice balcony area where you get to watch the electric boat parade, a beautiful living room, full kitchen, washer and dryer, and two bedrooms. The master bedroom is beautiful with a gigantic tub and the bathroom, the guest bedroom has two double beds, the lobby area within the villa is fun and has games, coloring, and a TV playing Disney shows shows for kids. Overall, we stayed two nights and three days here and we definitely could've stayed longer. We really loved staying here and don't have a bad thing to say about it.

This review is limited in scope to the main lobby area of the resort with a focus on their real house size gingerbread house. Arriving in the resort is grand in itself since you have two swan themed trees on either side and a magnificient view of their main tree in the lobby. For great pictures, take them on the 2nd floor overlooking the atrium. Swan wreaths also adorn the wall. It's truly breathtaking. Photopass photographers are on hand to capture those special shots you'll want to treasure. My main reason for visiting was to dine at Narcosse's-reviewed separately and check out the gingerbread house. The house is fully detailed with Disney characters throughout and hidden Mickey's abound Santa is on one side of the house along with everything that would make a person welcome for Christmas. The gingerbread house serves as a store from which you can purchase holiday treats as well as make your own kit and more. A sign describes what the house is made from and most notible are the shingles which you can purchase during your visit. You can smell the gingerbread everywhere! Since this house is so popular we waited in line about 25 minutes just to be waited on. Some of the merchandise from Nov has been sold out but you can pretty much get the food. Note they sell a large Grand Floridian sample box and a minature gingerbread house of your own. When it was my turn I got to speak to the counter lady to find out the shelf life of these goodies is only a few days. They also don't ship-you must take your purchase to their business center to do that. Finally not everyting is made in house. Make sure to check the wrapped item to see where it was made. I decided to purchase the cranberry gingerbread muffin, 3 gingerbread men-not made in house, and a gingerbread shingle for my husband. By far the cranberry gingerbread muffin was worth the investment-The gingerbread was thick and the cranberries moist. By all means this was my favorite selection. The gingerbread man was also very good even though it wasn't theirs. The only disappointment was the shingle. My husband found it to be a bit dry. Among the other things they had which I didn't purchase were chai cupcakes-they looked amazing! Allow plenty of time if visiting this exhibit and wish to purchase. Lines can be very long. The house is composted after the holidays so they can make use out of it. The Grand Floridian resort sits on both the Disney local monorail line and a ferry boat is out back to take you to the Polynesian Resort and the Magic Kingdom. You can also walk to the theme park from here. Be prepared to wait no matter where you go due to immense popularity of this resort and grounds.
