Old-fashioned but modern in every way. What I mean is that this is a café where you go, choose a cake if you find a piece of the many on the display (all made there, of course), let them know that you have coffee, then find... a table and wait for the waitress. She brings your coffee or ta and the cake you picked. You pay them at the table to finish. It's just a bit different system (good, completely different) for every North American. You can have light meals, or breakfast, as a table service as well. All I ever had was good, cake, coffee, snacks. And well located in the shopping area Lahr in the city centre.
