What User doesn't like about Slappy Cakes:
The restaurant has a great concept. We opted for the table with a grill, which was amusing. The vegan (and gluten-free) batter resulted in pancakes that were a bit gummy. Unfortunately, there was no vegan "butter" option available. They did offer a delicious vegan coconut syrup and a variety of fruit options. However, the dessert I tried had a bland texture. We had a great time preparing our own pancakes at this restaurant! We chose both chocolate and regular batter, and made a few large silly-shaped pancakes along with about 6 traditional round ones.
Favorite breakfast spot hands down! Our server was fun too.
Great staff. Chicken fried steak was homemade with yummy (not overly rich) sausage gravy. Mac encrusted candied bacon FTW. Banana bread French toast...
