I am not quite sure why this is listed on the hc; although I went here because my bf is not veg and wanted to try it out. there is really nothing here for vegan or vegetarian. I ended up with a very modified salate, in the round of the blt wedge minus the b and underbed for another dressing. there are certainly restaurants that are more environmentally friendly in maui than roy’s. We made a reservation after reading great things about her vegetarian menu and we were disappointed when we said they didn't have it anymore. But we expected some vegetable or noodle options that the waiter told us they could stir a tofu fry. It was super disappointing and I would NOT recommend if you are vegan.
Love the Veggie menu. Enjoyed the meal, but not worth the price. Other options in the higher end food that are much better.
Ask for the veg menu. Everything on it is vegan or can be made vegan. It was all superb. Our server was fairly knowledgeable but checked with the chef when he wasnt certain. They start you off with free spiced edemame. Then we got a roasted brusell sprout and cauliflower appetizer along with some beet poke. For entrees, my husband got the eggplant penne and I got the mushroom scallops over sundried tomato risotto. Everything was delicious, maybe a tad saltier than I prefer but very well composed flavors overall. Highly recommend it all! I'll post some pictures!
My husband and I are both vegan, but his entire family (parents, older brother and wife, younger brother) are not. So, finding a restaurant that caters to everyone's dietary needs can be a challenge. Luckily, Roy's was a hit with the whole family. We all had a great time at Roy's. My husband and I enjoyed delicious cocktails, appetizers, unique entrees that impressed even the non-vegans, good wine, scrumptious dessert, and a fascinating Japanese shochu. The restaurant offers a dedicated vegetarian menu that can be modified to be vegan-friendly. There were three appetizers, three entrees, and one dessert option to choose from (though these change seasonally). The waiter was knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and was able to make the necessary modifications. Everyone left the restaurant happy and satisfied.
I love the vegetarian menu at this restaurant. While I enjoyed the meal, I don't think it's worth the price. There are better options at higher-end restaurants that offer a superior dining experience.
