Fantastic steak pie, gorgeous gravy (which from a Manchester lass is praise itself! and the biggest and totally delicious chips. Crammed full of melt in the mouth steak, never had a pie so full of meat and so tasty. Perfect pre Euro match meal
Sadly we couldn 't tell you anything about the food. We visited for Sunday lunch after being told how wonderful the Place is by several people. First problem is parking followed by 'hunt the entrance ' big signs down by road extolling the wonders available inside but nothing to show way in. We did get in to a big empty space with maybe 20 or so people spread about, the place had no atmosphere but a waitress was swanning about so we sat down and sat down and sat down as she studiously ignored us. Finally we found a largely empty bar around the corner and asked for a menu only to be told there was no menu as it was Sunday Roast only and anyway they only serve people who have booked. Frankly Sunday Roast isn 't good enough without knowing what it comprises and why make so much about coming in on the outside when you actually don 't want anyone who hasn 't booked. Needless to say a big empty Bar Restaurant that is that unwelcoming is not what we wanted so we left without further discussion and just won 't bother to visit again.
Very unfriendly pub. Food not too bad but won't return in a hurry. Typical bar for the locals and visitors ignored to the point of rudeness
The best pub in Portugal! We’ve been coming here for years and wanted to do an up to date since covid. We go to the pig head all the time and my parents are regulars. This is a review of a pie night on the night of the England semi final. The pies are to die for and the drinks are cold and wet! Everything is Covid-19 safe. Everyone wearing masks and nobody allowed to stand up to watch sports on tv. You have to book to get a table on the meal nights.
