Onda Norte - Lagos

Great salmon and shrimp with white bean dishes. Service was a wee bit slow but once the food arrived all was forgiven. Charming family run business. Our server from Brazil was very sweet and knowledgeable. Great value also. With a nice bottle of duoro we got out for less than 50 euro.

That was my first visit, but my family already ate here. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The most important courses are very substantial and really fab! I had the mixed kebabs and the grill taste was great. Loved rice and black beans served with meat.

We stayed at Villa Doris Apartments in Praia da Dona Ana and instead of going back to the city, we decided to stay “local” for dinner. Had a few options nearby and chose the Onda Norte on TripAdvisor reviews really. I'm glad we did it when the food was really great! We had the Portuguese steak and the Ribs and both meals were excellent. The staff was really friendly, we were offered a free port to finish the night and total bill was about 40 € that our beer and Sangria with dinner. Great value we think as we have probably paid almost €80 for similar, though at more chic locations. If you are staying close to Dona Ana or even in the city, we recommend the Onda Norte for a delicious, price-quality meal.

It has been some four years since our last visit here. It was our go to place for picanha. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress, and the owners were there too, and we had a catch up with them. We had picanha again last night, and it was as good as ever. I also had a lush lime cheesecake! The presentation was good, with a very nice salsa. It is great, that an original chef was back, but best of all Vinny, our favorite waiter is back too. We have two weeks of our holiday left, and we'll endeavour to return.

My husband and I shared grilled meat.. it was so fresh and delicious and the beans and rice were great. Staff was so pleasant and attentive.
