We usually are skeptical of restaurants that are so well located as they often tend to be tourist traps, but this place was fabulous with amazing quality and flavors. Great value, too!!! Don't miss it. Try the coco loco dish! View all feedback.
Cayo Coco is right off a popular square. It doesn't look fancy or traditional. It looks touristy. And it was even one of the less crowded places (a sign that usually steers me away . But after circling by it (and by A LOT of other restaurants, we were getting hungry and decided to give it a go after seeing that the octopus special was under 10 euros. (They also had a whole early bird special with wine, 2 entrees, and a dessert for like 20 euros. And the entrees? Lobster. This was one of the best meals we had in Portugal. Our British waitress was friendly. The prices were reasonably low. And the food was marvelous. My octopus literally melted in my mouth. Oh and the sangria was amazing. I only have fond memories of our dining experience at Cayo Coco. Don't let the look of the place dissuade you. Great food at good prices.

My wife and I have recently spent a week in Lagos to celebrate my birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary. Looking for somewhere to eat is quite mind boggling as there are so many restaurants to choose from. We found Cayo Coco on our second night and dined there on four occasions. The restaurant is owned by a couple from Venezuela and the food is a mixture of south American, Portuguese and Thai style. We found the food to be excellent and amazing value. I won't go into details, just check out the images to see what I mean. All I will say is on our first visit we had soup of the day followed by a main from the regular menu and one from the specials board. We also had a bottle of house red called Amnesia! plus two white coffees for my wife with two espressos and two local brandies for myself and the bill came to just over £29!! I actually queried the bill as I thought we had been undercharged! Finally, a special mention must go to Amy the waitress from Poynton who was so friendly and was so knowledgeable when it came to the menu. She really is an asset to the restaurant. If you are in Lagos call in. It's just off St Sebastian square.
Um restaurante onde a qualidade/preço é boa. Recomendo as pessoas la irem. Os pratos sao unicos e nem em todos os restaurantes que se consegue ter uma ementa onde se tem comida dos 4 cantos do mundo!
To be honest we weren't going to even go to this place, we had walked past several restaurants that were packed and found Cayo coco empty apart from 2 guest, not a great advert for a eatery. We actually only picked it because it was close to the taxi rank and had plenty of room for the pram. Our first course was the hot wings which were some of the best wings I have even eaten (I have eaten a lot of wings). For main I had the Portuguese steak which was also excellent! My partner had the fajitas which she tells me were also excellent. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough. A must visit
