Aquario - Lagos

Don’t get fooled by Aquario’s unassuming location and decor, this restaurant is extraordinary! It is not surprising it earned several Michelin recommendations. The two brothers who own it not only know their food, they know their spirits and as important, they know well the difference between offering just dinner versus offering an amazing dining experience. From the stuffed calamari to the chicken Monchique, rack of lamb with reduced rosemary sauce or mint sauce, to the Aquari pear for dessert , all was excellent and we can’t wait to go back. Bravo! Les deux frères qui en sont propriétaires connaissent leur nourriture, connaissent leurs esprits et, ce qui est important, ils connaissent bien la différence entre offrir juste un dîner et offrir une expérience culinaire incroyable. Des calmars farcis au poulet Monchique, du carré d'agneau à la sauce réduite au romarin ou à la menthe, en passant par la poire Aquari en dessert, tout était excellent et nous avons hâte d'y retourner. Bravo! No se deje engañar por la ubicación y la decoración sin pretensiones de Aquario, ¡este restaurante es extraordinario! Y no es de extrañar que se haya ganado varias recomendaciones Michelin. Los dos hermanos no solo conocen su comida, sus vinos sino que también y quizá tan importante, conocen bien la diferencia entre ofrecer solo una cena y ofrecer una experiencia gastronómica increíble. Desde los calamares rellenos hasta el pollo Monchique, el costillar de cordero con salsa reducida de romero o salsa de menta, hasta la pera Aquari de postre, todo fue excelente y estamos ansiosos por volver. Another fabulous meal in the Aquario. Delicious food, beautifully presented and served with charm and flair. This small restaurant is a jewel in the Algarve a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere and attentive hosts. Best to book though it is small and in high demand.

Have been visiting luz for 25 years without knowing about aquario. it is located in a non-descripting part of the city. friendly greeting and from there it was a gastronomic experience from the beginning kouvert further with excellent wine and a finish brandy and harbour. very recommended, and we are booked again in 4 days.

This is my favorite restaurant in luz. the quality of food and service is excellent.
