I had the biscuit with fried chicken and pecan/praline glaze side of grits. I can't believe anything could be that good. Grits were great, but the chicken biscuit w/ pecan/praline glaze was a revelation. The place is understaffed in the server dept, but a delightful, friendly, efficient server (I think her name is Lindsey--outstanding... GIVE HER A RAISE! was keeping the place humming SOLO. Halfway through my breakfast a back-up appeared. If I were to rate the restaurant overall, due to it being shortstaffed, I would have given it a 4. But Lindsey is a solid 10, so in TripAdvisor math, it averages to 5.
My husband and I went on this morning I didn’t feel the vibe at all. When we drove up I was hesitant on getting down when I seen how dirty looking it looked.I’ve never been served in paper plates at a restaurant ever. The coffee was watered down I’m a coffee drinker so trust me I know good quality coffee when I drink it.The foood was awful didn’t enjoy it at all.We definitely looked like we didn’t belong there it’s a hole in a walll place. No Goodmorning nothing. The jellies in a container not even in a pack.My overall experience was not good we won’t be returning.
The service here is VERY friendly and the food delicious. They were out of gravy and grits as we arrived for a late breakfast. The biscuit with praline syrup and bananas is to die for I cannot recommend this item enough! The diner is small and not much to look at on the outside so don’t let that fool you! Also this is located close to the interstate and easy to get in/out.
Really good biscuits and gravy. Fresh and hot breakfast items cooked just right. Service was great and I liked the atmosphere.
One of my favorite go to places for breakfast! My nephew I love making a pit stop here on our way out of Lafayette every time we’re out there early enough… staff is very friendly, authentic Louisiana atmosphere, homemade biscuits are a MUST HAVE don’t you dare forget that gravy either.
