Nimbeaux's - Lafayette
Nimbeaux's
Description
Nimbeaux's in Lafayette offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. Despite some minor issues with salty crabcakes, the hospitality shown by the staff more than made up for it. The owners even went above and beyond to give a tour of the kitchen to guests, making it a memorable experience. In Dallas, Nora stands out as a fantastic find, offering rich and intense Mediterranean cuisine. The cozy ambiance and attentive service make it a perfect spot for a romantic evening. The Afghan dishes like lamb shank with saffron rice were particularly outstanding, and the desserts were decadent. The menu at Nora is both innovative and delicious, with well-balanced flavors that leave diners wanting more. Customers also praised the authentic and fresh food at the restaurant, despite limited bar options. Overall, both Nimbeaux's and Nora come highly recommended for a satisfying dining experience.

Feedback
The atmosphere is lovely, the food is fresh and flavorful, and the waitstaff is great. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. The dishes were all perfectly cooked and well-seasoned.
We found that some of the dishes we ordered were delicious, while others were not as enjoyable. We understand that taste is subjective and varies from person to person. In general, our experience at the restaurant was pleasant.
Reservations. What reservations? The hostess informed us upon entering Nimbeaux's that they don't accept reservations, so don't waste your time trying to make any! As for food, select at least 3 entrees that sound appetizing because chances are they will be out of something you would like to eat. Or, they will substitute something they do have in the back without telling you and bring it to you anyway, possibly hoping you won't notice! Overall, this was a huge disappointment and ruined our Father's Day dinner!
The food was all good except two at our table had crabcakes that were too salty to eat. But it is really hard to complain about a restaurant who opens for business at 5 p.m. on Saturday and happily takes an opentable reservation made at 4:30 p.m. that same day for a table for 19. That alone marks it high in my books. Then the owners were gracious enough to take my great-nephews on a tour of the kitchen and the back office! Thanks for taking care of us Nimbeaux's. We had a great mini-family reunion on my trip to Lafayette!
