Dax On Verot - Lafayette

I've been trying to taste this restaurant for a long time. It's around the corner of my clinic. I went to a dark, rainy Monday today and got DELICIOUS food, which was wonderful and brightened the day! I had lunch for today, that was chicken stew. Stellar! Thick engraving, very tasteful, a large portion and it stick to my ribs. With less than $10 for the stew, two sides and a role, it was worth the price! I look forward to trying more of their menu items. Make your stomach a favor and visit Dax on Verot!

I expect it's busy based on all the great reviews I heard online and offline. They wanted to close early, but I'm so glad they wanted to serve us. My group has fried Pickles, Dax BBQ Burger, Brisket Po Boy and a Krabbenburger. Meals all came with Fritten. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere on the veranda was excellent. They allowed dogs. So dog friendly too. I can't think of a negative thing to say about our experience. Everyone loved the food and the restaurant. Thank you for staying open to us. We come back or order to go.

My husband and I live in New Iberia, and for years we have been trying to find a really good Sunday BBQ. A bear in New Iberia has big BBQ, but they only serve it on Thursday, and if you don't call at 10:30, you're pretty good luck trying to get white meat. I'm just saying this because in recent years we have tried to find BBQ in the whole area, which is half as good. Today we tried Dax on Verot, and FINALLY found great Sunday BBQ. Although the restaurant is small, it has a great atmosphere. I'd like the chicken to be a little bigger, but you can't beat the taste. I would definitely drive the 30 miles to buy it again.

On the mend after completing some significant yard work and needing a fix of a scrumptious PoBoy. On the menu for me and husband was a BBQ Pork Steak PoBoy annnd a Mama's Cajun Cheesesteak PoBoy! Hiting on those high note flavors here! I placed our order at the counter with a quickness. We didn't wait long for our food to be made fresh. Less than 8 mins. While waiting for my take out order, i enjoyed the visual aesthetics of the well decorated air conditioned restaurant I recieved polite service with a smile. Anyway, back to those sandwiches! Heaven in my mouth on the Cheesesteak! The pork was a little too sweet on the sauce, nicely smoked but needed more if it.
