Contribute FeedbackGrindstone Charley's offers a mixed dining experience according to recent reviews. Some customers complained of overcooked steak and poor service, while others praised the attentive manager and efficient service for a large party. The food was described as good but not freshly made from scratch, with high prices for the quality received. Despite mixed feedback, the menu offers plenty of delicious options and the atmosphere is enjoyable with non-obtrusive televisions. Overall, Grindstone Charley's seems to have its strengths and weaknesses, making it a hit or miss dining choice for customers.
Had a reservation for months on graduation day at Purdue. Got to the restaurant and it is closed permanently. I did not get any notification of this.
I made a reservation for graduation weekend, but unfortunately the restaurant had permanently closed. I did not receive any notification from Open Table or the restaurant. Although I was very disappointed, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the restaurant boarded up. At least my child is now a college graduate.
The blue cheese crumbles I had on my steak we're very overpowering and the steak was very dry. Our waiter was really good and the drinks also.
I asked for my sirloin steak to be cooked medium well. Steak was very thin, overcooked and very dry. Waitress asked if she could get me another one and at the time I said no. I have heard stories about what happens when you send your food back. My friend had the same meal hers was perfect. Her steak was much thicker than mine. Salad and green beans were good although very skimpy on green beans. Service was excellent. Although I would not recommend that meal to anyone the restaurant was nice.
I did not enjoy the food at this restaurant. However, I did like the kettle chips.
