Once again I spontaneously stopped in the pöstli laugh...the local was very well occupied, so I sat down on the round and ordered a black medallion of crinkled sauce with nüdeli, an appetizer a mixed salad. despite many people: service was friendly, speditiw and professional...compliment!The salatsauce of course "homemade"..very fine, with a hauch knobli...The menu cellar very nice arranges with the different colored vegetables, large portion...and the quality as always...very good.I can recommend this locally only: for a quick lunch,
Small restaurant. great ambiente. friendly staff. fast operation. fantastic eating.
As I wrote in my original review, Postli has become our local default lunch restaurant in Lachen. We eat here now twice week on average (whenever my wife suddenly goes on unannounced strike.) Since we are fish lovers, we usually order the fish choice among the 5 luncheon choices offered. The prices are very reasonable for Switzerland. the prix fixe menus are between Swiss Francs 22.50 and 28.50 for a lunch composed of soup, salad and main course. The menus offered are: vegetarian , usually a pasta, a couple of meat menus, the fish, and always the café du Paris stek frites. But here the frites are the best shoe string potatoes around. All is prepared to order " a la moment".For fish preparation the only competition is at Schiff in Pfaffikon, 15 minutes away. But there the salad is an extra charge. Both my wife and I agree that Postli is just a cut above. The chef's home made salad dressing is also just a cut above anyone else in the vicinity. In Switzerland the cost comes with bottled water, wine and coffee which can easily double the bill. That is true less here as the open wines are, relatively speaking, not overly expensive. The Sommer Sauvignon Blanc is to be recommended with the fish. It is from Neusiedlersee near Vienna. The chef chooses his wines himself and the list is nowhere else to be found. We sometimes order two different open wines just to taste a new wine to see if it is a better fit with our fish or meat than our habitual choices. There is a lovely little summer terrace shaded by a large umbrella trimmed Plantain (Sycamore) tree where dappled sunlight plays on the tables and terrace floor. The service is pleasant, takes a bit of time, is attentive if you wish something special as it is one server. There is a dessert of the day, again home made, not from the Pastry Shop down the street. This restaurant is authentic. Life is unhurried, real food is prepared a la moment, the prices are fair. Sit down under the umbrella Sycamore and enjoy une bonne moment.
Good, decent Swiss cuisine at elevated level. beautifully presented, prompt attentive service. a good evening.
It was gloomy and raining in Lachen. My wife and I needed to eat out and we went through the usual restaurants that we like in and around Lachen: Oliveras in Lachen, Johannisburg in Altendorf both closed on Monday, Schiff in Pfaffikon but everyone w2ould be crowded inside because of rain and so many restaurants closed on Monday.Last September we had eaten in the garden at Postli on Mittlerebahnofstrasse (the street often closed at one end because of building the new railway station.) We found it quite pleasant. So a 10 minute walk in the rain and we arrived at 12:10 PM to find that only 6 seats remained unoccupied in the restaurant. The room is bright, nicely art nouveau influenced decor with high ceilings, tables reasonably spaced. The patrons were a mix of bourgeois, well dressed ladies, stylish younger ladies doing selfies, unhurried business people all of whom engaged in pleasant but not loud conversations. It was not hard surfaced "Milano Modern" requiring ear plugs. The menu offered 5 choices for the day. Each choice included soup and salad and the main course. The fish menu of the day was Egli Filet accompanied by a potato gratin, and spinach saute'. My wife and I both love good Spinach with fish so this meant we both took the same menu choice so this evaluation is a bit narrow. The soup was a quite good consume', and an absolute super fresh diverse mix of salad greens with a delicious dressing. Great start. The main course arrived to our delight. The spinach as good as any this past yea. The potato gratin just delicious. The local Egli from Zuechersee not overdone. We chose a Chasselas from Lake Geneva which was just right with the fish. The wine list has a most thoughtful selection of whites from many of the wine districts of Switzerland as well as a couple from Germany and Austria. .We divided a homemade Tira Misu which was also very good. The prices are very fair for the quality. The service was efficient as the restaurant eventually was totally filled. One swallow does not make a Springtime make. But Postli is a 10 minute walk for us, so it may become our go to lunchtime date in Lachen.
