I believe this restaurant could use some improvements, such as better seating and non-slip trays. My wife and I visited about a week ago, and I ordered the Seahawk dish. The server, who appeared to be new, did well overall. However, I noticed he was a bit stingy with the crab salad on my plate, so I politely requested some more. Another staff member I recognized informed me that I would be charged $3 for the extra crab. The way this was conveyed didn't sit well with me, so I chose to decline. I wasn't asking for a large amount, just a small additional serving. To avoid any unpleasantness, I decided to take a break from this restaurant for a few weeks and explore other options instead.
We used to really love this restaurant, but during our last two visits, we noticed that the portion sizes have shrunk. The bowls have changed to larger ones, but there's definitely less food inside. We could previously share a bowl, but now there's hardly enough for one person. Even when we request sauces on the side, they are only filled a quarter of the way. It's disappointing because this was once our favorite place, but I'm not willing to pay the same amount for half the food.
Whenever I go on road trips, I make sure to stop by Miso. The staff here is incredibly friendly, the prices are reasonable, the food quality is excellent, and the portions are quite generous. I really don't get why some reviews are complaining about portion sizes—it’s the inflation we should be blaming, not the restaurant. One suggestion for the owner: it might be worth considering a change in the lighting. The current bright, white setup makes it feel more like a hospital cafeteria rather than a cozy dining spot. The decor is nice, but the lighting definitely needs a bit of improvement.
I absolutely love this place! I've been a regular since they first opened. It's a great spot for a healthier meal. Here’s a picture of my veggie seaweed wrap from yesterday!
