We stopped in at Casa Vincente twice in one day first to have a coffee and cake (and avoid a rainstorm) and, because the coffee was good, we came back for lunch. We'd had our coffee in the bar downstairs but for lunch were directed upstairs to the dining room, more formally decorated, right down to the starched white tablecloths. Specialty of the house is suckling pig but we went for the more modest potato omelette a... View all feedback.
What EnglCastle doesn't like about Casa Vicente:
The only empty place we found but as it looked ok we thought we'd give it ago. A mixture of good, bad and indifferent. The staff were indifferent, not unfriendly but hardly welcoming. The steak, lamb and flan were bad, the steak virtually inedible and the flan too bad to be shop bought. The good were the bean soup and the suckling pig and the wine. Wouldn't recommend for the price. View all feedback.
For a three course meal I paid 28E and the food came out suspiciously fast. The first dish soup with beans and chorizo tasted like it was two days old. The famed Cochinicollo was served the fries came out of a freezer, The traditional Segovian dessert was pretty miserable, portion wise I was paying 28E after all! and the coffee that was not included in the meal was average. The carafe of wine was about the only redeeming feature as it allowed me to drown my sorrows after realising that I had been ripped off in a glorified fast food restaurant.
