Description

Alys' is a surprising small-town gem offering an intimate, art-filled dining room and a tightly curated menu where dishes — notably rack of lamb, fish, crab cakes and desserts — are often perfectly executed. Thoughtful prix-fixe options (including vegetarian/vegan with advance notice), a deep wine list and warm, hands-on hospitality make it ideal for celebrations and food lovers. Reservations are required and seating is limited; service can be uneven on busy nights. Overall, a distinctive, personal dining experience with fair pricing and local charm.

Absolutely outstanding in every way. The White Bean and Ham Soup was delightful, featuring a rich, velvety broth that nearly brought me to tears. For my main course, I had the lamb while my wife opted for the pork. Both dishes were impeccably seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend pairing your meal with the Ramey Pinot Noir—it’s a fantastic match! We concluded our dining experience with the carrot cake and the Angel Food cake. Be sure to make a reservation and prepare for a wonderful experience. We will definitely return frequently. As for kid-friendliness, I didn't see any children during our visit, and honestly, I wouldn't want to. It's best to find a sitter and leave the kids at home.

Alys' restaurant is always my first choice and it never disappoints! Whether it's date night, a family gathering, or entertaining friends visiting from out of town, this place is the perfect destination.

Two for Service and four for food. I am a semi regular customer eating at Alys' several times per year. The food is up scale with menu items that you will not find in chain restaurants. Aly is very creative with the menu. The last few times I dined there my experience was less than satisfactory. The meat was a little tough, but the glazing was amazing. The food overall including the sides and desert was good but the service was unsatisfactory. We had reservations and requested a certain dish in advance but when we arrived we were told the dish was not available. We were asked to choose a different item. It was extremely hot in the restaurant. We were given water when we arrived and asked for more throughout the meal, but never received the water even after asking several times. Fortunately, we had some water in our car we had after we left. They were busy, but very slow at responding so we ended up spending much more time in the restaurant than we should have 2 hours. When we asked for the check, the servers checked out other tables that arrived after us. I gave a 15% tip, which is lower than what I usual give because of the service but is still generous considering the service. The servers have a tendency to hover over you while you choose your tip which makes you feel a bit uncomfortable. We had a bill of about $200 because we had a nice bottle of wine, so 15% was still a nice tip. I didn't get a thank you when I paid, which seems a little rude and entitled. I am only writing this review because the past few times I have been in there I've had a similar experience with the service. If you spend $200 plus tip on a meal, I expect better. I'm sure if/when I will go back.
