Aoki is nestled in Downtown La Verne, and they offer excellent lunch specials with fast service. I really enjoy supporting local small businesses, and this one is definitely a favorite of mine. The miso soup is delicious, perfect for chilly days, while the sushi and cold tea are refreshing in the summer. They also serve a tasty potato salad as a side dish. There’s both indoor and outdoor dining available. The food an... View all feedback.
What Laura N doesn't like about Aoki Japanese:
Highly disappointed in this place. The food is very bland, at best and not worth the price. We went here because of the reviews and were disappointed. There were no other customers whatsoever at the time, so there isn't really an excuse for the lack of taste. View all feedback.
Stop for lunch and order lunch!! So delicious, you really get your money value, I pay $15 including tip for more food than I could eat california roll, Teriyaki chicken, tempura, potato salad, rice and miso soup! and the staff was super friendly! Very recommended!!
Where's Sushi? It's a fantastic place! The staff is very friendly, and the food is excellent. The salmon sashimi was absolutely delicious, and the rolls were amazing! I tried the red dragon roll, and it was fantastic! The double shrimp roll was also a highlight. Highly recommended!
Aoki is not just a restaurant. I feel like a part of my community and my life. I have been going to this place for lunch for years when I was close to the University of La Verne. (And I still make the trip to La Verne for lunch sometimes! I have no idea what the name of the waitress is, but I'm always happy to see her. The restaurant is owned and operated by a couple and you can taste every morsel of love in their food. I usually don't like sushi, but this is the only place that knows how to make it delicious. It is usually lukewarm instead of cold and they roll in the rice layer in sesame seeds. If you go there for lunch, you can have a complete Bento box with two or three items, salad, potato salad and rice, all for about ten dollars!
This little hidden gem, tucked away off Harbor on Mesa Verde, has amazing broth for its Ramen! The char siu Ramen is absolutely delicious! The only downside is that the place is quite small and can't accommodate too many diners at once. So, takeout is a great option!
Oh man! This place was really delicious! Beef Bulgogi was great, the avocado sushi was great, the teriyaki chicken was great, the tempura was ok (not really a fan) the lady was amazing! So nice and helpful. Definitely going again and I recommend it!
