This place was awesome for me. Arrived a day early and they immediately started unloading my trailer. Note to truckers. If you come early get here at or before 1 pm. Ok. Great spot. View all feedback.
I worked for Ajax Turner Co for almost two years as a merchandiser. Don't get me wrong, this job is good for the money to get your own place or buy a car you always want. Also can be good with the benefits, driving a company car, and having to own schedule to start and end your shift. Here on the pros and cons to work for this company.Pros: Great benefits, driving a company vehicle, you can start and end your shift at any time. You have to start before 5am and once you done at 1 or 2pm, you have the rest of the day to yourself. You're off on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.Cons: Poor communication, lack of management not willing to help out when necessary (having a lot going on), I have been name called and harassed by two of my salesman, upper management not caring about their people people, they treat merchandiser like trash, and if you called out for a specific reason, they will treat you different cause you had a extra day off and not received help because you called out.

After getting my pre-plan for an Anheuser-Busch load from Williamsburg Virginia, I googled this location and noticed they're receiving times were from 7 a.m. to 1400 p.m.. I called my fleet manager to let them know that the 4 a.m. appointment time they had was most likely going to be wrong. So I called Ajax Turner and spoke with the secretary home verified the receiving hours from 7 to 1400.I then notify my fleet manager that the receiving times have been confirmed and was told that they will get the information.I didn't get a call back from my fleet manager telling me that sales department verified that for Anheuser-Busch loads we can deliver at 4 in the morning.I still felt like something wasn't right so I called and spoke with receiving this time. Once again receiving tells me receiving hours are from 7 a.m. to 1400 and I specifically mentioned that this load was an Anheuser-Busch load I was told it didn't matter that's when receiving is.I once again called my fleet manager my fleet manager replies back to me a few hours later telling me that he spoke with the warehouse manager and that Anheuser-Busch loads can most certainly deliver at 4 a.m. that in fact that's when they want them and that's why the appointment was scheduled for 4 a.m.The warehouse manager told my fleet manager that we can park there overnight but it's preferred that we didn't.Was told about thorntons, travel centers of America and the pilot. At 4 a.m. I go to the receiving door and banged on it for over 20 minutes and was ignored. I could hear them unloading the trailer right at the receiving door that was a dropped Werner trailer. I did this for over 30 minutes at approximately 5:30 a.m. a sales associate pulls up to the office area I asked him if he could call or page receiving to let them know and Anheuser-Busch load is here to offload. The gentleman makes the phone call and actually puts it on speaker so I could hear and he speaks with Tony Tony says I instructed the drivers already it's 7 a.m. delivery times. So I was told to go wait in my truck until 7 a.m.. now mind you I was on the property at 9 at night first truck there and yet they took the JB Hunt truck first before me who arrived 6:50 am. Be aware of some serious favoritism going on and a lazy worker and management that has no idea or there is some serious insubordination going on from receiving to management I really don't know. But I do hope management will take care of this problem and receiving department will follow what they're supposed to do according to Management's policies or procedures.I don't appreciate waking up at 4 in the morning doing what I was told to do because one person fails to do his job
Top of the line receiving department. Showed up a day early and they put me in a dock immediately. Was out in 15 min 20 tops.
