Hostal Casa Mazeta - La Union

Great place to stay. Right in the center of town, super safe, super cute. Friendly staff.

Fabulous hostal! Clean, fun, spacious, well-equiped kitchen, communal TV area with huge couch and hundreds of DVDs and cable, hammock chill area in the garden. If you are coming to visit the Rutas de Las flores, this is the best place to stay. It is also the cheapest! Sometimes online it looks like they are full, when they are not, so make sure to check anyways!!

As a hostel, the experience here was five stars. We especially appreciated the commitment to sustainable living: it's one of the few places in El Salvador that reuses organic waste as compost and recycles other discarded materials. We didn't get to meet the owner, but some of us were fortunate that a volunteer was present when checking in, otherwise communication would have been an issue. Staff is available 24/7, and they keep the door locked for added safety. Keep in mind that this is a hostel: privacy and restroom availability could become an issue when the property fills up.

Didn't stay here, but went on the waterfalls your organized from the hostel. Staff were lovely. I had a sneak peak around the hostel too and it looked like a nice place to stay.

Home from home. It's amazing. We had a private ensuite room and originally booked 1 night. Ended up staying 5. We bussed around the Ruta De Las Flores each day and returned at night to cook food and relax. Thoroughly recommend it. The owner and the staff are really helpful and friendly. We will be back.
