Charming place to have lunch by the peaceful River Seille. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, very reasonable prices. Excellent frogs' legs and equally excellent petit friture; go for the mixed dish of petit friture.
The floating restaurant was closed as we approached La Truchere on our boat. Fortunately, we moored and walked up the riverside to find L'Escale. This welcoming restaurant was unpretentious. The food was excellent and the one member of our party who was vegetarian was equally...delighted with her meal. Four of us were delighted with our lunch and the service was friendly and professional. This was a great find quite by chance.
