Lo Riondet - La thuile

At a loss for words to describe just how good this meal was. The experience in itself being taken up to the restaurant via snowcat, and back down in a piste basher is well worth it; add in one of the most varied and delicious feasts I've ever had and the value for money is as good as you'll find in the Alps. An absolute must for anyone in La Thuile or closeby. Totally our fault but we weren't aware the pick up point would be so far from the town and had to walk up the winding roads to Pont Serrand. Thankfully after the meal a lovely Italian family we shared the piste basher down with offered us a ride home. So make sure you arrange transport to and from the pick up point.

We were a huge group (20+ and so my expectations weren’t too high. Instead we had an amazing dinner. Three tables and a whole room for us, food is just great, super tasty, the manager and all staff very very friendly and helpful. Only point to improve more vegan/vegetarian choices in the menu.

We stopped for lunch whilst skiing. Initially disappointed as no outdoor seating available and no pizza. However we sat inside, ordered pasta and hoped for the best. We ordered two pasta dishes, they were tiny with a little sauce on each, not really enough for a starter, no parmesan offered. My green salad was chopped lettuce with lots of rotten leaves, no dressing offered I sent it back. The cheese platter was 4 tiny pieces of the same cheese, no bread or butter. Really disappointing lunch.
