We came here after a morning on the pists for Saturday dinner. a beautiful authentic alpen restaurant with a roaring fire and hook for ski equipment, but a modern twist with kitchen like varied traditional tartiflette, carpaccio and a fabulous trout green that must be sought out! a super break in every ski day.
When the next table sits three generations of a French family who have raised the mountain without ski for lunch in a snowstorm, they know that they have taken a good place and we were not disappointed. excellent and inventive salads, proper bolognaise for...the children, fine crispy frit all served by attentive and friendly staff. we ate here on a beautiful sunny day on the surprisingly quiet terrace and then back inside on a snowy Saturday. not ruinously expensive compared to the rather less impressive alternatives in the family-friendly serre chevalier area. in any case worth a booking, or at 12.30 to get there five stars were not for the glittery but badly odorous basement toilets.
Wide range lunch menu salads, pasta chicken, boudin noir, wok , salmon varies from day to day. No service to tables at lunch be prepared to line up and wait a while I assure you it will be worth it. Very friendly...staff (maybe they were amused by my school French ? ; even the lady at the cashier always made sure to say ' bon appetit ' with a smile : . The BIG thing on top of the ever so nice personnel was the huge outdoor terrace so please make sure you book in advance if you want to enjoy your lunch outdoors enjoying the sun. They even provide you with 'hay hats ' to protect your face from the strong Alpine sun while you eat. A popular place so do book in advance ! Cost for 5 persons meals desserts water bottles a small bottle of wine around 95euros.
My husband booked a waiter served table for 1pm which one of the waiters told us is a particularly busy time. He recommended for next time to book 12.45 or 12.30 as there tend to be large groups booked in at 1pm which was our experience. Despite this all four of us had a very good meal. My two daughters had pizza which was tasty. I had the lasagne which was good and my husband had the tartiflette also full of flavour. We washed it down with a nice bottle of Rose. Good service although slightly slow due to the aforementioned large groups. Lovely sun bathed terrace would recommend a visit. By the way it's also accessible for those who don't ski as it is located at the top of the lift.

Very good Tariquet white wine. This place is more for an occasion rather than just snack. Short walk from the mid point of the 'remonte mécanique' of Ratier starting from Chantemerle. Combine this with a walk up top or continue with the lift to the top to see the views.
