Disclaimer: We loved the place and facilities because we were the only group there. There are 2 toilets and 2 showers. The ceiling is a bit low (watch out your head) but the views are great. The inn is very charming, floor creaks and you really feel like in an authentic chalet. The included dinner with the night stay was amazing! Best dinner we've had on our entire Chamonix Zermatt trek. Delicious soup, delicious meal... View all feedback.
Really top notch. Wonderful Chef. Nice service. Everything we ordered was delicious. I had a chanterelle mushroom starter, followed by a black angus beef filet. Grass fed beef with hollandaise sauce. Get there French fries or pomme de terre as they are twice as good...as there mash potatoes. The French can not do whipped potatoes? !! The salads were wonderful. The steak tartare looked fab. ?? Small choice of wines but good local choices. One bad thing. My husband asked if the tip was included and the staff member said it was not. He left a very nice TIP even though we had read places it is NOT NECESSARY TO TIP IN SWITZERLAND. WE DIDNT want to insult her but we didn’t like being taken advantage of.
Stayed here on our Haute Route hike. Had to double-check the reviews to make sure we were in the same place that other reviewers had raved about. We 2 of us in a room for 4. The room was dark and smelly and the floors...and rugs had dirt chunks and the linens on the bed did not look clean. Men and women share two shower stalls and two toilets and a large sink area. There is reading material and a small lounge area inside. We enjoyed drinks in the outdoor patio and sitting out on the wrap-around balcony on the second floor. Dinner included a wonderful soup appetizer, but the main course was disappointing (canned vegetables, etc. . Breakfast was laid out the night before: a thermos of hot water for two with choice of instant coffee or tea bag, a small piece of processed cheese/butter/jam, a brotchen and a yogurt. The hosts were friendly and hard working, but look like they could use some additional help to run the place.

Best dinner we've had on our entire Chamonix Zermatt trek. Delicious soup, delicious meal and dessert. The breakfast was all right. We had lunch there too and it was amazing. Honestly it served the best food I think during our entire trek. Loved the place! Would definitely come back. (If hopefully it won't be fully booked)
Possibly the best stay we had on the Haute Route. An easy day meant we arrived by 1 o'clock and were given a room with bunks for four. We had it to ourselves, so were able to wash a few things and hang them in...the window without disturbing anyone else. The room was spacious, with a large wardrobe and a couple of chairs. A large window looked out onto the distant mountains and nearby houses, where hay or silage-making was going on in small meadows. We had a lunch of beer and sandwiches: really hefty slices of beautiful fresh bread, generously laden with cheese, ham and pickles. Dinner was excellent, in a convivial atmosphere of combined travellers and locals, and the breakfast plentiful enough. The hosts are welcoming and efficient, the place is old and cozy, with creaking wood floors, stairs and walls. Everyone sat in the sunshine on the terrace, but there is also a communal sitting room upstairs with comfy chairs, a big table and charging points, which would be welcome in bad weather. The showers, wcs and washing sinks (mixed and a little public) were clean and sufficient for quite a full house. Overall, we loved this place. Don't miss it.
Stayed in the dormitory on half board for one night, the dinner was absolutely delicious and the dormitory area was very spacious and homely. Breakfast in the morning was disappointing (especially compared to dinner); no cereal on offer and only instant coffee or tea
