Contribute Feedback What Thomas Blanc likes about Auberge des Platanes:
A popular cafe with locals and tourists which can get very busy. Yesterday, it was idyllic, sunshine, excellent welcoming service and a lovely simply cooked omelette and salad lunch. Portion size was perfect- none of those plates groaning with food, just the right quantity, which tempted us to a delicious ice cream. We shall return and tell our friends. View all feedback.
What Rodolfo Mayer doesn't like about Auberge des Platanes:
the ordered mushroom omelettes and they were massive, so very filling. sa outside, the road past, but was not busy at an early June weekday. overall it was good without being spectacular. View all feedback.
Hot day and this was the first place with shade. Seated instantly, ordered drinks which arrived rapidly. Friendly service. Salmon and cheeses We had no issues.
Steak was terrible. Told the waitress - no comment. Couldn't be bothered to fight for a reduction or compensation - nothing offered. One word - 'roadkill'. Don't do it!
We only made a brief pit-stop here on our way through, but enjoyed a fantastic set of cocktails and wound up staying for coffee, too.A lovely buzz to the place, great views and very reasonably priced. I'll certainly be returning to try the food next time I'm in the area.
Having just spent a pleasant hour on the river we needed a drink and decided to have lunch as well. We did not want to pay a lot so looked for one offering a set "Formule" menu. With a vegetarian, someone who needed a gluten free meal and one fussy eater we struggled.Unfortunately the Formula menu was mainly duck so very limiting for our vegetarian as even the salad entrees included duck. However, when requested they did serve members of our party with simple salads. I would not say service was good as we even had to ask for the bread but the meals were good.
On a visit to La Roque Gageac and after walking around this lovely village for a while, we thought we would stop at this pleasant looking café for some refreshment. There was only one couple at the outside terrace, just finishing a drink and one waiter. We waited expectantly for him to come and take our order. Instead, he fiddled around with the ice cream display, going in and out of the café. When he looked in our direction, we thought he would soon be with us, but no. So after several minutes of this, we left, as we were unable to get his attention. I hope the manager of this café is aware that he has at least one member of staff who is not interested in customers!
