This restaurant is much better inside than its outside appearance. The food (Salads in this case) were beautifully presented and we had a very friendly service. The toilets are immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. This restaurant gave us much more than its outward appearance (from the side we approached it) It is well worthy of a visit. We had two (large) salads and a pichet (1L) of Stella Artois and two cof... View all feedback.
What Marie Salmon doesn't like about Le Manzio:
To celebrate the holidays, after a party with the friends, the restaurant seemed a good idea. So our choice was about the manzio. The establishment was not full, even the server let us choose the table because of few crowds!chouette we thought. damage! after a command and a rather fast entry, the dishes will be waiting. Wait. wait....Rebelote for dessert!more than 20 minutes waiting for dishes and more than 30 for de... View all feedback.
We've visited Le Manzio twice since arriving in La Rochelle. The first visit was great - friendly staff, tasty food and nice atmosphere. We were expecting much the same on our second visit however the rudest most crass waiter I have ever come across unfortunately served us today (19/07/2017) and I really hope management does something about him. I did not catch his name but he was a hard faced, angry thin man in his late 30s. My boyfriend approached the bar only to he ignored and so he went to sit back down as the waiter was absolutely not interested. We decided to wait a little while as we had hoped maybe one of the nicer waiters who served us a few days ago would come along and brighten things up, sadly, this did not happen. The angry rude waiter finally (very disgruntled) walked over to our table and did not smile, did not say hello, nothing. Just stood there. We asked for two beers in French as to avoid further aggravation. He the came back a while later and basically threw them on the table, no thank you, no nothing. We noticed that all other tables had little nuts and cracker bowls complimentary with their drinks (which we also had the last time we were there) but this angry little man offered no such gesture. After reaching half way through our drinks he came back gesturing for payment with the card reader - this was an even further shock, he didn't even ask if we wanted another drink. After that our card was apparently "declined" even though there were plenty of funds on it and we had used it there before. After trying a few times he actually used vile language in French and stormed off, even the other waiter saw this and looked in amazement that his colleague could behave in such a manor towards paying customers. Never again will I come here thanks to the angry little man. I hope that the manager of Le Manzio reads this and understands that it's about time someone tells this grumpy waiter to get another job.
Apart from the service that is efficient, what we eat does not come out of the ordinary. Nothing is willing to come back.
Very good pizzas (including verde) with some of the products specifically imported from Italian. sober and cosy decoration
So don't go there just before a movie session because you won't have the choice that eating pizza that in the way is not terrible. 1h before being served and we are told "the wait will be long for your dishes because the cook is overflowed he has papers that fall downland take pizzas his going faster or pasta". Two girls choose pasta to the holy jacques and we are told "not it's special his take time" if we would have known we would have gone to the mcdo we would have waited for a dessert and we'd have eaten what we wanted... And once we get out of another restaurant we decide to go drink a coffee the bottom except they say "it's not possible we're no longer serving. So we're taking digestives, but we were made to understand that we had to leave because they were looking forward to closing. It's really not sure we're back.
On holiday so we have time but still !with a room in 3/4 empty, it took us more than two hours to eat a menu with tartare and a carpacio with fries.Since the decor is nice and the correct plate.
