We arrived on a windy evening and were greeted by extremely pleasant staff who spotted we were English immediately and greeted us in good English. I ordered the Menu de Jour €18 for 3 courses) and my partner had the Mussels. Food was really good, arrived swiftly and with a smiling face as it was served. We started eating outside but it become too windy and the staff moved us inside without any fuss Would recommend View all feedback.
What chuns doesn't like about Di Venezia:
It seems the Brits in La Rochelle like this place, the French find it less appealing. Not sure whether there is anything to be read into that, but our experience was pleasant enough. What we wanted was a pizza style meal, and chose this one, out of dozens that access the harbour frontage of the town, because they had a table free. No science there. The service was friendly and helped us find a good table during a rainy evening. The dishes are very tasty, with fresh seafood. However, for the price paid (16€ for sardines or seafood) we expected a bigger portion... Anyway, I guess I could come back again provided the value-for-money stays reasonable!
Extremely disappointed. Staff was overwhelmed, took our order super late then forgot our pizzas. And it wasn’t just us. Food is extremely basic with no flavour, pizzas are better on Deliveroo. Mussels are a rip off, better off going somewhere else near the market. They’re taking advantage of being right on the port to offer cheap food to tourists, what a shame!

So nothing wrong with this place at all.
We stopped here for lunch. Food was very good and the staff were very friendly. Great location opposite the port. However I noticed one of the girls who were serving the food stop to stroke a passing persons dog and then continue to serve food without washing her hands. Luckily we had finished our meal by then!
Je suis choqué de voir autant d'avis négatif sur ce lieux pour notre part nous y sommes aller un soir et comme nous avons était TRÈS TRÈS BIEN SERVIT nous y sommes retourner le lendemain midi.pour notre part il n'y a rien a redire les serveurs le patron et la patronne sont d'une politesse exemplaire a l'écoute de leurs clients nous avons très bien mangé ( une entrecôte + 1 burger pour la première fois et la deuxième 1 pizza montagnard et 1 salade de chèvre chaud) nous avons passé un très bon momentpour ma part et travaillant dans la restauration ou je suis manager le service est IMPECCABLE il N'Y A RIEN A REDIRE juste a encouragé les serveurs qui fond des horaires de malade pendent cette période estival
