Sam's Southern Eatery - La Place

The food was outstanding. We placed our order and then enjoyed our meal from Bonne Carre.

This is one of my favorite local restaurants. I’ve tried various dishes on the menu, and they have all been outstanding! Everything is always served hot and quickly. The velvety dish is especially delicious! The service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend giving Sam's a try!

Food is fantastic here. The waitress and I had a great conversation about our kids while I waited and another guy even helped me get my food in the car! I highly recommend this place and I will return.

I have never had a bad order. The breading on the catfish is crusty and delicious. Some of the best tasting catfish I've had in LaPlace. As for preparation let me give you an example. Today my order was for pickup. Abraham, the owner, came out to me and said he didn't like how long my shrimp had been out. He cooked fresh shrimp for me and threw in a couple of extra shrimp. And their shrimps are big. Fried okra and fried pickles are fantastic. Crab cakes are the best and a meal in themselves. I highly recommend, and without reservation, Sam's Southern Eatery. Great food. Great folks.

I stopped in for a quick bite and was thoroughly impressed! The waitress was outstanding—so sweet and attentive, managing multiple tables all by herself without making us feel neglected. We ordered the fish, shrimp, fried okra, mozzarella sticks, and fries. The mozzarella sticks were amazing; I could have happily eaten just those! The catfish was actually Swai, which I didn’t realize at first, but it was well-seasoned. The fries were delicious as well. My husband didn’t say much about the shrimp and okra, so I assume they were decent overall. It’s a classic greasy spoon type of place, but the portions, prices, and service were fantastic! The menu is quite extensive, so I definitely recommend checking it out!
