Smokey's Grill and Cantina - La Paz

4 of us visited a few weeks ago in the april. we were happy to hang out here. young, what a great disappointment! saw in the bar at least 10 min and my man had to ask a waitress to get the bartender to chat our...order bartender was at the other end with others. my mango margarita had absolutely no alcohol in it. it was rather a smoothie. the mai tai my sister was bright yellow and tasty awful. it took a while. he went in the back to google, how to make a mai tai? luke warm beer for the guy after our drinks were served, barkeeper never came back. we paid our rider and left. I didn't finish our so-called cocktails. bad service and will not be back. go to la playa for excellent drinks, real eating and great service.

This place really went downhill, but the prices have risen. it is really an americanized sportable with expensive boardline foods. they have no happy hour appetizers anymore and they have changed the way they used their chicken wings to...be preferred. stop them for a drink if they want to catch up on some sports, but another choice for eating. they are so many better places to eat in this city.

I was surprised by the trips in Smokey’s, which were definitiw higher than most other restaurants we went to, even the “Fancier” like la playa. and for the price the quality was no higher. it's kind of like a chill open-air... American sporty with tvs everywhere, which isn't really the mood we wanted.

We had the tuna sashimi which was very fresh and enough for a meal for two people, and the catch of the day sandwich and fries. The sashimi was the best we had while in town. The grilled fish sandwich was huge and also very...good. Service was OK but not great. This is a very casual place with seating in close proximity to the main street running through town so it can be a little noisy. Plenty of TVs for those wanting a sports bar type of atmosphere. The food was better than the service and the service was better than the atmosphere. Convenient parking in their lot adjacent to the restaurant which can be hard to come by in town.

Been coming to LB for years. I knew Smokey well. Unfortunately it's not being run well at all - even in Baja standards. Terrible service and ticket times on food. If you just want drinks it's not bad.
