One of two sit-down restaurants in the Super 1 Mart in La Palma, they serve Chinese-Korean dishes like Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, and Tangsuyuk). Pork Tangsuyuk deep fried pork in a sweet and sour sauce) seems to be an 'in ' dish these days, so we went primarily for that...but was slightly disappointed. We got the #4 $16.99) combo, which is Jajangmyeon bowl of noodles covered in black bean sauce) with the tangsuyuk. The jajangmyeon sauce was very good, rich with big chunks of potato and pork, over firm, well prepared wheat noodles. One big problem was that there was a small piece of bone in the sauce can easily crack your molar if you eat sloppily). As for the tangsuyuk, the pork pieces were good: delicately fried in clean oil, with the pork being reasonably moist not too dry). The problem was the sauce....very plain, a bit too sweet without much of the 'sour ' portion that is promised in a sweet/sour sauce. The portions were large the combo seemed to use full portions and they provided an extra clean bowl for sharing without us asking). We also got the #5 $12.99), which is fried rice. It was typical korean fried rice: plenty of egg, with frozen vegetables, slightly seasoned...probably rate it slightly below average. They did provide a scoop of jajangmyeon sauce with it, but the rice was pretty non-descript I would recommend adding the shrimp for an extra $3). They also threw in a small cup of the jjamppong broth, which was very good and even had small bits of seafood in it. Each dish came with a small side of pickled daikon radish.I can imagine this place being very busy for lunch, and there wouldn 't be enough seating in that case, so carry-out might be the way to go. In our case, seating wasn 't a problem since folks are pretty quick in eating and getting on their way. There is a shared self-serve water dispenser, and you can ask for small Dixie-size water cups once you buy your meal. Service is what you would expect fast food like) and you self-bus.
Be careful of the fried pork. It is not always thoroughly cooked. The jjajang can also be a bit greasy.
