I do not understand the negative reviews. They are always quick, except when they are really busy. I have not had any problems in the 20+ years that I have been eating here. View all feedback.
What Trent Sporer doesn't like about Bistro le Refuge:
at the moment we saw this bistro we thought it would be the ideal place for our last dinner in Quebec. Finally a nice restaurant, in a magnificent place with an interesting menu and a little more original than the average. Dinner was an immense disappointment. from the waitress, too rigid, to dinner. If there's a good thing I ate in quebec, it's fries. the big bob was far from being defined edible, the fried was cove... View all feedback.
The real of this place is the view !situé au ras du river, at the first loges to observe the whales -:)and the service is attentive there (although a little long in full service despite the number of servers). For the rest, it's fake chic, mood music, kitch decor, towels and paper tablecloths, it doesn't take. From a distance or in a photo, it might seem classy, but in real not at all. The food is correct without more, considering the price: 20 dollars off-tax for a basic dough plate, we have already done better as a value for money. idem for the menu table d'hôte, not at the price.Break, we will not return.
Location, location, a small restaurant down a steep hill by the St-Lawrence river, what a find! You can enjoy the view, fresh air by the wharf, enjoy sailing boats coming in the marina before your meal.I had a 3 course table d'hôte: delicious rich mushroon crepe with local cheese baked in a ramequin, then chicken and shrip pasta with tomato sauce and a light cookie based coffee mousse: all very good. My partner had the lamb shank which he loved, the meat being very tender. The service was attentive, the table set simple with paper tablecloth and napkins. Would go again
At the moment we saw this bistro we thought it would be the ideal place for our last dinner in Quebec. Finally a nice restaurant, in a magnificent place with an interesting menu and a little more original than the average. Dinner was an immense disappointment. from the waitress, too rigid, to dinner. If there's a good thing I ate in quebec, it's fries. the big bob was far from being defined edible, the fried was covered by a ton of sauce with an ambiguous result. the salmon was good, since it was submerged by a butter sauce that would cover any defect. Good dessert. A lean disappointment.
Good potential. beautiful landscapes during this period of the year. However, disappointed with the value for money. what is announced in the menu is not reflected in the plate. small portion, quality of the missing presentation for an invoice still high enough for this category of restaurants. Could easily improve the customer/food/quality/price experience.Although read comments or reviews and do not let you be impressed by what the online menu suggests.
We discovered this beautiful peaceful place on the riverside and its panoramic view of the Cape in L'Aigle. We were very welcome by the owners and the smiling staff, the view is unbeatable and quiet, our sigh was delicious and well advised for the choice of wine. The service is impeccable and the warm atmosphere, we have had a very good time and it is a must for the next time, bravo
