I try to eat at China City whenever I'm in La Linea. Both their Peking duck and sizzling duck are delicious, as are their various dumplings and dim sum. Prices are reasonable and the service is professional and friendly. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about China City:
Well the staff were very pleasant, the food was fine but I think what we ordered was a bit to much as the portions were huge and the price was very reasonable so no complaints from us . View all feedback.
Had the 22 euro set meal for 2. Large portions however there was only one hot plate for 2 dishes. The other 2 were left on the table and as a result got cold very quickly. The meal and 2 beers came to 25.40 which I thought was very reasonable. Unlike some of the other Chinese restaurants I have been to recently, there was no charge for the prawn crackers.
Was staying at Hotel a couple of hundred yards away and found them through a web search. From the outside it look a bit grim, as is the location this is a slightly neglected area of La Linea but felt safe enough. Went inside and you find a decent size, very well laid out and decorated restaurant. We were the first customers that night and received excellent service. If you are hungry, then this place is for you the portion sizes are very big and we were caught out by this and went home absolutely stuffed (contented). The taste was very good too. Eat regularly in Chinatown in London and it would give them a run for their money. Went back a second time then a third with 2 other couples. At the end of the meal we were given free cocktails for being such good customers. I can be quite fussy with food, but this place had me beat. Definitely one to recommend to fellow travellers. Oh and did I mention the prices very reasonable!
It was a shame that they dont serve buffet anymore. The pricing overall is reasonable esp the fried rice is cheap, bigger portion n taste nicer. The fried beiking duck is a bit different from the usual one but it makes the whole dish really special. Super recommended. Also the bosses and waiter are friendly
Been in the China City Restaurant for lunch. I was looking for a restaurant that doesn't offer a buffet in the hope of finding some traditional chinese food. Well the neighbourhood isn't the best for this restaurant, but from the inside it really looks nice. I went through the menu, unfortunately it was mainly spanish/english with no chinese names or anything. Adding to that forks instead of chopsticks, which is never a good sign if u are looking for authenthic food. Well I ordered myself something, because asking was kinda hard, since the waiter only speaks chinese/spanish and I am only able to speak english. Food itself was ok'ish, nothing more, nothing less. Portion was big though, but well, I didn't got what I came for, authentic chinese food : But if u are looking for some fried rice or any other chinese take-away, this place is decent with fair prices and big portions
Went here last night, as when in la linea we always do. We arrived 25 minutes before opening but were invited in.Yes the outdoor decor would put you off but the quality and quantity of food is excellent. Prices are excellent too. The young waiter even stopped to try to learn more english. Would recommend 100
