Olive And Basil - La Jolla

Restaurant was under staffed. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for 4 pasta dishes. It wouldn’t have been that big of a deal, but we never got water/drink refills. Several tables that came in after us were served quickly. We finally just gave up, paid for our appetizer and left.

Good spot to grab a bite. We were seated upstairs so we had a nice view. Our server Vinny was great! He was always around when we needed him he had a wonderful attitude. We had the calamari the Spanish shrimp pasta dish. Great flavor, plenty of large shrimp the veggies on top were nice. We also wanted to try the Baklava cheesecake that our waiter suggested my goodness, it was everything!! I also think the prices for the dishes were reasonable. If you ever find yourself in La Jolla, you should def stop by!

Very pleasant experience, I highly recommend the olive and basil pasta and the lamb shank. Both were extremely tasty. Will be back at Olive And Basil again, highly recommend it.

Had very poor and slow service. Food took ages to come and restaurant was nearly empty, they forgot one of the dishes (had only ordered three dishes so not a complicated order Food was ok but really not worth the wait. Also my son tipped some water on the table so we cleaned it and put the dirty tissue in the take away cup. We then asked for a water refill and they refilled the same take away cup including the dirty tissue inside!

The service was so slow. The waiter hardly checked back. The only guy really working hard was the busboy and the only reason we even left a tip. Manager tried to make up with free deserts which we appreciate but we just wanted a nice stress free dinner.
