OMG! I just had a piece of the pistachio cake and it was amazing. It literally tasted like a pistachio macaron, but as a cake. I'm bummer I only bought one slice. Next time, two, so my husband and I don't have to fight over the last bite.
Nestled in the back of a small plaza, the shop can only accommodate around 6 people inside. They serve espresso and offer a variety of pastries, mini cakes, slices of cakes, and full cakes. I specifically came for the Gateau Aileen, which costs $12 and has been calling my name through photos. Despite its towering appearance, the Gateau Aileen was surprisingly easy to eat in one sitting. The four layers of cake were separated by fresh fruit, giving it a light and fluffy texture. Although a bit dry, the fresh strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and cream between each layer provided the moisture and texture needed. Each bite was a delightful combination of flavors that kept me wanting more. I highly recommend trying the Gateau Aileen and I will definitely be back to sample other slices of cake. JABA approved. Can't wait for the next delicious bite...
On Saturdays Michele makes the best cinnamon rolls one can hope to find, and she will make cinnamon raisin rolls by order in numbers of 6, even better. If you like fruit pies, OMG my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Best fruit available, best butters , and crusts are to die for. Yes, nothing is cheap but when you can get the best....what are a few pennies for?
