Burgers and Pommes are pretty good and you get a free refill of Pommes. The staff is very friendly.

We went with a party of 14 when they were very busy but you couldn't tell by how courteous and attentive our waiter was. He had our drinks out and was there to refill them constantly, he was very knowledgeable of the menu and as soon as he took our order the cooks had our food out all together and cooked perfectly to order. Highly recommended for a burger person looking for a burger twist.

To celebrate their 35th anniversary, the first 100 customers today received a complimentary burger. The burger I had was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. I sampled the Island Golden Ale and Kona Longboard beers before ordering the Kilauea Burger on a whole wheat bun, accompanied by fries. Both the fries and the burger were great!

This restaurant is located in the popular shopping district near the UCSD campus and specializes in burgers. We ordered a tuna salad burger (made with white albacore tuna salad, cheddar, jack cheese, salad, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo), a Hula burger (featuring sautéed mushrooms, salad, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and mayo), and I chose the Luau Island Tacos, which are described on the menu as two corn tortillas filled with kalua pork and served with a side of ranchero beans. I can only speak for the tacos, but they were absolutely delicious! I was quite impressed by the kalua pork, which was perfectly cooked and tender. The caramelized onions, teriyaki sauce, guacamole, and a bit of salad were all wrapped in a very thick corn tortilla that held up well to the meat and sauce. It was surprisingly filling, yet easy to eat. The service was prompt, and the staff was very friendly. The best part was that there was little to no wait during peak dinner hours on a Friday, and they even accept Triton Cash for nearby students.

I found Island Restaurant to be quite impressive! The burgers, wings, and drinks were all consistently delicious. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't been before! I will definitely return from time to time!
